Description
For a dress with long sleeves and a narrow belt I reach for the organic Selanik knit in avocado. The muted green feels autumnal without being dark, and it sits happily next to camel and rust. Use a jersey needle when sewing and the loops will stay intact.
Organic Selanik by Stoffonkel
Selanik: a wonderful knit fabric with a silky sheen. The knit pattern is an elegant rib. The reverse is smooth, so the fabric feels lovely against the skin. The small amount of nylon gives the fabric a beautiful shimmer. The rib structure together with the small proportion of elastane creates the stretch that comfortable garments need. At 350 grams per square metre the fabric is a little heavier than our jacquard, for example, which tips the scales at around 290 grams. Our Selanik is nevertheless light enough to sew garments that are pleasant to wear and do not become too heavy. The reverse stabilises the fabric so that it cannot lose its shape.
- Width: 140 cm
- Weight: 350g/m²
- Composition: 96% cotton (organic), 3% nylon, 1% elastane
We recommend washing the garments inside out.
The organic fabric can be washed at up to 40°. Optical brighteners and high spin speeds should be avoided. We have had good results with bleach-free organic detergents.
