Half-round ring with an iridescent surface for bags and rucksacks: into this D-ring you hook carrying straps, snap hooks or a key tab. Because the surface shimmers depending on how the light falls, the ring sets an accent on a plain shoulder bag without you having to change anything about the fabric.
Inner diameter 25mm, height 20mm, outer width 32mm. The height of 20mm gives you a little more room inside: a double-folded webbing or a tab of faux leather slips through more easily than with flatter rings.
Sew the ring on with its own tab, not directly into the side seam. Lay the tab around the straight bar, neaten the edges, topstitch across. That way it sits firmly and you can carry on working the bag’s seam allowance as normal.
