Description
The D-ring in antique brass has the muted, slightly aged shade for bags with a vintage look. On linen, corduroy or oilcloth it looks more restrained than shiny gold and does not make a well-worn favourite look like new stock.
The measurements: 32mm wide and 20mm high inside, 40mm by 30mm outside. This is the large version for shoulder bags and rucksacks with a wider strap.
So that the ring sits straight on the finished bag, mark the position on both side panels before you sew them together, and measure from the outer edge rather than from the seam allowance. Keep rivets, buckles and snap hooks in the same shade and the picture stays coherent.
