Albstoffe loves cotton. That is why almost the entire Albstoffe collection is made from GOTS certified cotton. BUT: special challenges call for special solutions. For use as a face covering, cotton is NOT recommended. For this particular use the Albstoffe textile engineers recommend the clinically tested and antimicrobial high-tech fibre Trevira-Bioactive. Cotton offers a good breeding ground for the growth of spores, mites, bacteria and other pathogens. In Trevira-Bioactive, silver ions are firmly worked into the fibre; they act antimicrobially and thus inhibit the growth of bacteria. The development of odours is also prevented. An effect that lasts for ever!Cotton is also poorly suited for use as a filter, because the irregular yarn and fabric structure(natural fibre) results in poor filter performance. Trevira-Bioactive is processed as an endless microfilament. The many extremely fine capillaries give very good filter performance.
