Description
Stretch corduroy in beige is a wide-wale corduroy with an elastane content, so it is fabric by the metre for trousers, skirts and dresses that are meant to move with you. The warm beige is a base colour that goes with blouse and knit fabrics in almost any shade.
The corduroy is made of 97 per cent cotton and 3 per cent elastane, weighs 280 g/m2 and is 142-145 cm wide. The wide wale gives it the texture that makes even a plain pattern worth sewing.
Corduroy has a pile direction: lay all the pieces the same way when you cut, otherwise the front and the back will look different in brightness. Press from the wrong side over a terry towel so that the wales are not flattened. Pre-wash once before cutting; with cotton fabrics that is the safe option.
