Description
The slide buckle in silver is the adjuster with which you make webbing on bags and rucksacks adjustable in length. The webbing runs over the centre bar and back again and clamps itself as it does so, so the length you set stays put until you change it by hand.
Measurements: inner width 25mm, outer width 30mm, inner height 2x 8mm and outer height 25mm. Silver is the neutral shade when the zip, the snap hook and the buckle on the same sewing project are meant to match.
Thread the webbing through the buckle first and only then sew the free end down, otherwise you will be unpicking a seam again. For webbing you take a strong needle and a slightly longer stitch length, and with several layers turning the handwheel helps.
