Description
The slider buckle in silver is the adjuster for webbing on bags and rucksacks. It has a double design, comes in size 25mm and has a bar in the middle: the webbing runs over it and grips, so the length you have set stays where it is without you having to topstitch it.
To thread it, take the webbing through from below, lay it over the bar and back out again. Pull on the loose end and the strap gets shorter; tilt the buckle slightly and it can be lengthened again.
My tip: combine the adjuster with two rings in the same colour and you get an adjustable shoulder strap. With synthetic webbing, briefly singe the cut edge first so that it does not fray.
