Description
Appliqué scissors from Prym in rose gold, 15 cm. The curved shape with the wide, beak-like lower blade is made for exactly this: cutting away excess fabric close to an edge without catching the layer underneath — when appliquéing, when trimming back seam allowances and when tidying up embroidery.
You slide the wide blade under the fabric and lift it slightly while the tip cuts close to the seam. That gives you an even, narrow allowance all round. Keep the scissors for fabric and thread, and cut no paper and no adhesive interfacing with them, as that wears down the fine cutting edge.
