Description
Elastic piping in light blue: an 8 mm wide, stretchy tape made of 92% PA and 8% EL that you lay into seams so the edge is emphasised. The pale blue is restrained enough for baby things and children’s clothing – set on a romper, a bib or a neckline, it gives you a fine line instead of a loud contrast.
The rule when working with it: lay the piping in, do not stretch it. If you pull it while sewing, it draws back together afterwards and the seam gathers. At corners, snip the allowance of the piping to just short of the stitching line, then it lies neatly around the edge. Together with ribbing in a similar shade you get a coherent sewing project without needing much fabric for it.
