Description
The D-ring in antique brass is the half-round ring you need for bags and rucksacks when a carrying strap is to be detachable. You enclose the straight side in a tab of webbing or fabric and sew it to the bag, and later you hook the snap hook into the curved arc.
The measurements: inner diameter 25mm, height 15mm, outer width 34mm. The colour is a muted gold, antique brass looks aged rather than polished and therefore goes well with canvas, cork and faux leather in brown and cognac.
When sewing it on, wrap the tab tightly around the straight bar and topstitch it with a rectangle plus a cross, which holds the pulling force best. My tip: take webbing that is no wider than the inner diameter, otherwise the webbing bunches up in the ring.
